Henry Schein to lay off 30 to 40 in LI; 300 worldwide

Henry Schein Inc. of Melville, one of the world's largest distributors of dental and medical products and Long Island's third-biggest company, said in releasing third-quarter earnings Wednesday that it will eliminate 300 jobs around the world, or 2.5 percent of its total workforce and close some smaller facilities, citing the slowing economy.

I got a call last week looking for a NYC sales rep position. Now they are blowing people out. Hopefully just duplicate positions, overlaps, etc.

Nobel hiring a new sales force. That is a joke. They just renamed a few of there head guys to another position . Same company and same bullshit.

I know they have been looking for people in their technology division, selling Xray, CAD/CAM systems and practice management software and Cone Beam Systems. Company is solid, good place to work.
