Implants are unnecessary...

By Sid Sydell, DMD

Implants, Implant, implants, blah, blah, blah. I am sick and tired of implants. They are the single most unprofitable and unnecessary procedures offered by dentists today. I refuse to restore any implant restorations. I used to in the past but after looking at what went into the restorations and what it cost I realized that traditional crown and bridge was still the way to go. Give me good old fashioned Maryland Bridge for single tooth restorations. The lab fee is ideal the fit is perfect. I do not se e the need for all this impact stuff.I have and will win any argument that states that implants are necessary. The whole industry has been contaminated by this implant crap. It is time for us the take the industry back and restore what was done for some many years,

You might want to reconsider, in a slow economy placing implants could help a GP's bottom line.
